Just interested in which make of Clarinet you all play. I play a Buffet Crampon RC and love it to bits, with my new Vandoren 11.5 mouthpiece, for now it will do me !

My current favourite is my Leblanc Symphonie, closely followed by my Selmer 10G and Centered Tone. The Peter Eaton has the nicest tone but needs me to work harder for it!
I'm off on my clarinet course tomorrow (hooray, hooray - I'm so looking forward to it!!) - I can only take one clarinet with me because there won't be room in my luggage for more, so it's going to be the Leblanc. I'll have to play the others a lot when I get back, to make it up to them! tongue.gif

How did the clarinet course go? I bet it was brill, no ? I managed to get to London to buy some more fodder for my grade 8. I went to the Boosey & Hawkes music shop. Not bad, but not that big. I suppose it was in it's heyday. The tiles made to look like piano keys all along the entrance hall were beautiful, have you been there ?

The clarinet course was excellent - I had a wonderful time! If you want to know more, the website has just been updated saying what went on there - you should be able to find it if you do a Google-search on Clarinet Summer School Liverpool.
I wrote a review of the course, which the organiser has included! I've been trying to click on the photos which are posted on the site, to enlarge them so that I can see them properly, but it's not working on my computer at the moment - but in the top photo I'm one of the ones leaning on the piano, in the middle, wearing a pink Tshirt with a cat on it if I remember rightly!
I do go to Boosey & Hawkes occasionally, by the way, but I prefer Chappell's because they are usually more likely to have all the things I need.
Oh, and sorry for the delay in replying - I only came back from holiday today! rolleyes.gif

Glad you enjoyed the clarinet course, Jo Clarinet. I'll go into the website and see if I can see you !!
Don't worry about the delay in replying, same here, I've just come back from a week on the west coast of France, I'm burnt !!
Got to get down to some serious playing now, Grade 8 is looming and I've got to get my scales up to scratch !!

Just checked to see if it's possible to get to the website from the info I gave. If you put '2004' in there as well - so Clarinet Summer School 2004 Liverpool - you should be able to access it.
I've been asked to do a longer review for the CASS magazine too - if it's accepted it'll probably be in the December issue. I had great fun writing it, but they might say it's too long!

I don't think you have probs with your computer, I couldn't enlarge the photos, only parts of them appeared ! But I did see you at the piano, looks like a nice bunch of people ! Wish I could make it over, there is a summer course over here in France, run by a couple of people I know, but it's Jazz and I'm just SO classique !!!
Never mind, hey watch the writing - could become a full time job !!!

It would be great if you could come on the course next year, Trudi! tongue.gif
There was someone from Switzerland this year, and last year there were people from Spain and Italy, so chances are that you wouldn't be the only one coming from abroad!
