What was all the fuss about yesterday with the weather. ??
I flew from Liverpool to Paris at 8.05 with EasyJet, arrived about 15 mins early. Returned in the evening, just a few mins late! Flight was reasonably smooth.
Yet I get home and find theres been allsorts chaos, with both Manchester and Liverpool (and other) airports closed for some of the day.
Today bright sun and hardly a cloud at the moment ! Just a little breeze (Im in Wirral, not Leeds like earlier in the week)

We woke up to a power cut this morning, and the phone lines were down too. Luckily I woke up at 6am and realised there were no pretty numbers showing on my clock radio, otherwise I might have overslept.
It was great fun trying to find the camping kettle and gas light in the garage by the beam of a tiny torch.

And we didn't seem to have a box of matches anywhere.
There's been a 10-day power outage just down the road at the school I teach in, so they were oblivious to the power cut, having a temporary generator installed. I was relieved to find I was wearing matching shoes, and the clothes I'd put on were what I thought they were.

I'm really mad! Next door's skylight blew off the roof in the gale Thursday morning. Smashed into my car causing dents to the bonnet, roof, front door and back wing. My windscreen and sunroof are scratched. They expect me to clain off my insurence and pay the £100 excess as they don't have cover to do the repairs. It seems that it's not their fault, the fact the tenants reported the winow as leeking doesn't count for anything. The most insulting thing when the Woman phoned me to impart this news she said I'd been phoning (plural) the Office. I might have done if I'd had the number. I only called the landlord once, which is hardly unreasonable and waited for them to come back to me.
Sorry about the rant just glad the weather is improving!

I would be surprised if the landlord did not have buildings inurance of some sort. I think that there may be a way around it. Maybe Citizens Advice would have some ideas.

Quite a lot of car insurance policies are sold with a legal assistance policy attached. Does your car insurance have one of those? If so, this is exactly the sort of case for which they are intended to be used.
In any event, get your car insurers on the case - they tend to be far more effective at getting money back than individuals do.
It's cold, cold, COLD today. But the clouds are black rather than white so it'll be rain not snow. Thank goodness

We're meant to be frosty tomorrow - around about freezing in terms of temperature. I think the low pressure is moving eastwards - so we should have better weather moving in.
It'll be a cold one for the walk to school - metcheck says it'll feel like -6

When I walked down the road this morning, a grandad and a little person were busy building a snowman at the first house up from the corner. When I came back just before lunch, Mr Snowman was complete with carrot nose, hat and scarf.
It thawed a bit later and I would imagine it might not be there now - or not much of it. I'm sure it seems a bit milder too tonight. (or are we getting used to it?)
