Full Version: Holiday With Piano

I wondered if anyone knows of any good/cheap self catering accomodation near Ayr in Scotland with a piano.
Last time I was up there for a week I was really missing my Piano.
I had to go to a castle for the day where they let me play the piano, just to get my fix (although that was great)

Any help appreciated

I can't say a word ph34r.gif Youngest asked the farmers wife if they had a Piano, when we were on holiday last year, despite taking 2 recorders and a Flute. The novelty has worn off a bit now for Piano.

What about taking a keyboad with you if all else fails?

I took a keyboard for a week at Portmerion the year before last. When I took my flute for a week at Center Parcs I just stayed in the chalet... oh dear.

I'm borrowing one of these from a pupil for a week to try out, they're not ideal but what an excellent idea, and so easy to carry around. He said that you can buy them for £7 in his book club at work which is good value as well!

After a few days holiday I get restless and feel that I'm wasting my time wandering around looking at things and places when I could be doing some practice. It hits me worse when it gets to the point when I'm missing a lesson.
I don't practice all day or anything like that but I miss having a couple of hours when I can.
I suppose my ideal holiday would be doing ordinary day to day things in a different place.... dry.gif

Definetely agree with the above tongue.gif
I am taking my violin with me to Italy for my 2 weeks break, cannot take my digital piano keyboard as I do not have a flight case and at £100 I cannot buy one last minute, I have to save up for it....but will buy it before my next trip and next time it's keyboard and violin without a doubt!

It wouldn't make much difference if there was an instument as the expectation on holiday is that you do all the traipsing around waiting for another day to end.

Took my clarinet to Wales last year... And took my saxophone to Cornwall last year...!

As for pianos... When I was eight (1998) we went to France and stayed in a B&B farmhouse... One night I played the piano in the dining for several hours to entertain the other guests and the hosts... And got six free bottles of home-made cider for it! (Even though I probably played really badly!)
