it was in the film amelie, and i loved it so much. Then i made my friend watch the film with me and she thought it was really gd. And then, all my friends clubbed together to buy the book for my birthday!

I don't think it sounds like Einaudi. His music has a certain character and charm to it and this piece doesn't have any of that. It's acutally quite dull to me which is a shame becasue I really like Yann Tiersen.

nor do I. tiersen is FRENCH not italian. I personally think that tiersen wrote better pieces than comptine de... thingy. valse d'amelie is much better (on piano and accordion)

Ooh, I love the film 'Amelie' - it's lovely. The music is so nice too.

Not a massive fan of minimalist-style modern tunes but that really is lovely!

Yes, I'm with you on this one Roger. Very Einaudi! Repetitive and overrated. Sorry. I voted for Einaudi on a previous thread which invited us to say who our most overrated composer was.

Anyone know roughly what grade that would be around?

I would say grade 6. I've never played it but I hear it is quite tricky. The hardest thing is probably trying to make it sound easy and convincing.

Sorry to disagree so strongly but that is never grade 6! I found it on the internet on Saturday evening and could play it almost perfectly including expression after about 3 or 4 plays through. And I'm grade 7 standard. I'd say that it is about grade 4 - the left hand is repetitive but quite tricky unless your hands are massive.

How much stamina is needed? Would a g4 pianist be able to play it all the way through at full tempo?

Like I said, I've never played it. I guess I can't really chat then.

Yes! My sister (G4) is currently learning it. It's only 3 pages long.

It is actually not very difficult. I taught one of my French friend to play the piece after three months she learned to play piano. The left hands is just 4 chords keep repeating for the whole song.
