biggrin.gif Hello

I want to know from singers who have already passed grade 8. What they did after that. Do they still sing. Are they taken any other exams etc. As i want to try and get to grade 8 by the begining of 2006. I have just done my grade 3 now and intend to do a grade at least every term. And i am determined to do it is well! So please give me some information about what they did after grade 8. Thank-you very much.

Good luck to you! I haven't done Grade 8, but hope to do it in about a year or so. Will probably go on and do diploma (maybe).

You might be being a bit ambitious doing a grade a term - I did Grade 6 in the Spring, and will take Grade 7 next spring. I'm doing some quite advanced stuff too (Mozart Exultate Jubilate, Vivaldi Nula in mundo pax sincera, Handel arias etc) for the fun of it. Coloratua is great! I didn't do the lower grades, but I've heard that there is quite a jump between them after grade 4. How are your languages? That can be fun to!!!

A grade a term might be a bit tough, but go for it! What do others think?

There's no need to race through it - unless you need Grade 8 for college or something (sorry. I don't know how old you are....) Just enjoy it.... rolleyes.gif

i've already passed my grade 8 with merit....i think i will take a so called "performance certificate" for singing from the trinity board very soon....then i will go onwards to diploma.... that's what i've been told.. dry.gif

There is life after grade 8! You could go on to do a diploma, and then if you are good enough, go on to study singing at a music college...

A grade per term seems like a very difficult task, perhaps a grade per year might be more realistic? If I were you i'd just enjoy your singing, and do an exam when you feel ready for one. There is more to life than taking exams all the time!!

Good luck

yes... dunn force yourself to do a lot of exams... it's not a good idea...i have to do some...at least i'll try to get all my instruments to at least grade 8 standards (done that for singing and piano...not organ...trying)...as i reeli want to get into music college.... cool.gif
