No, but the more 'don't knows' you get, the more likely it is that it's damned hard! laugh.gif

I love the concerto and would dearly love to know how you propose to play it.

Do you have a private orchestra maybe?

And what sort of score are you using?

When I've let pupils loose to buy a new piano, the shop owners very often try to sell them digital pianos, and part of their sales pitch is that it's posible to play a concerto with an 'orchestra'. IS this actually possible? huh.gif

I used to use Music Minus One for this. Now I can download music from a website into my Yamaha keyboard and play along with the recording using my piano. I am not sure how it works with digital pianos. Music minus one recordings are useful for singing along with an orchestra too. That surprises the neighbors!

I use Music Minus One, trouble is theyr'e so expensive!!! I have a Yamaha keyboard as well but have not hooked it up to the PC yet, might have to try this.

Sorry, don't know the level of the concerto movement either!

Hi there,

My school orchestra plan to accompany me. As for the score, I got th epiano part somewhere from a public domain site on the internet (can't remeber where) but my teacher has ordred the full score from the national library but I have yet to see it. Whe you say I love the concerto, I assume you know it. Any tips? What is the best way to learn& play a concerto? As you've probably figure, this is my first so yeah, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks biggrin.gif

I used Music Minus One for the Brahms 1 - the only problem is that during long periods of piano solo you get an annoying tapping from the conductor on the first beat of every bar.....and the long cadenza I could never get the right tempo overall - I was either still several notes from the end when the orchestra came back in, or was waiting around playing the last few notes over and over like a scratched record waiting for the orchestra to come back in again.... laugh.gif But the sheer sound of playing my favourite concerto with an orchestra was amazing - and it enabled me to play it for my dad too - it was his favourite........ smile.gif
