When looking up the syllabus for grade 5 classical guitar, I came across this is relation to arpeggios: 'the common chords of the above keys for the ranges indicated' (the above keys being: C, Db, D, Eb and E - major and minor).
Now, this may seem like a silly question, but...does 'common chords' mean all the chords in these keys? Or does it mean all the chords these keys share, excluding the chords that don't appear in each of the keys?
When looking though my (quiet old) scale book, the only arpeggios in there are the tonic chords from each of these keys. I thought that was all I needed to know, but this has confused me.
Please could someone shed some light on what this means?
Thank you,
LG
