I have one very similar to this in gold plate which i got off ebay cheaper than advertised on the page.
Heres what i think of the cheap piccolos:
Very hard work to get a sound out but of course the player is to blame most the time, so a good player can get a good sound out of them.
Mechanism is really hard work, you have to press down on the keys very hard to get them to shut compared to good brands- very tiring for your fingers.
Pads are just stuck in with glue. I have had 2 pads fall out since i got it 2 years ago, and has served me well during those 2 years. The D# key pad fell out 2 weeks ago which effects the whole piccolo so need to fix that somehow!
I would save up and get something like the jupiter piccolo that they sell for £200 on that site.

My sister has the John Packer one. After initial complications after she was given a broken one, it's great and not bad at all for the cheap price. First one was from eBay and definitely a disaster!

NO!!
I have that piccolo and it is ****.
It was difficult to get a sound out of, it's never in tune, and broke within a couple of months.

I don't know what any of these are like but the Jupiter one I got from ebay (second hand) was cheaper than that. I'd keep looking you might get lucky with a used one like we did.

I'm with notmusimum on this one. I got a used YPC 32 and it didnt break the bank, it has done me for years and has been through alot and I have never had any problems with it, £100 more is not much more to spend on an instrument that will last you longer than a month.

Completely agree with notmusicmum and malone...shop around and you'll find a much better secondhand deal!

Buying Piccs second hand is not like buying a Flute or Clarinet the chances are they are little used. you wouldn't have known the one I got wasn't new, it certainly looked it.
