This is great news Annetta, I'm so pleased that your piano teacher seems to completely understand the problem. The fact that he's taken it on board so quickly and without hesitation means that he will probably move heaven and earth to get it sorted because he understands. Eureka! Now you can concentrate on your studies instead of on this problem, so now go for it, all the way! Good luck!

Definitely! Your piano teacher's emphathy radar is working! laugh.gif
We are all so relieved for you! biggrin.gif

Agreed - good luck with the exams now! smile.gif smile.gif

Really pleased to hear this. With a break you can go for it. The way things were organised otherwise was sheer folly. Glad your piano teacher has seen the light.

Good luck with the exams (including the theory) keep calm and make sure that you get enough sleep all of the remainder of this week and the next. It will help with any last minute nerves.

Thanks for all your support everyone, but especially to you Jo as you have given me all the greatest advice anyone could give and made me change the times and I am glad that my piano teacher has seen the light too!
Thanks, I shall take all your advice!

Annetta xx

You sweetie! You're welcome.

Jo

Thank you again Jo! I hope it all works out too in the end! I will let you all know how it goes!
Hopefully it should be acceptable!

Having said that...people seem to be disappointed in me if I don't get a distinction! Everyone was with my piano exam that I did and I only got a pass!!! ohmy.gif

Plus I have got a distiction in both my other singing grades (4 & 5) sad.gif

Hi peeps,

I didn't manage to get the times moved in the end ... so bring on the 2 exams running today...could be quite interesting as I could barely speak this morning...so singing could be fun!!

Thanks for everything everyone...

good luck Annetta.

If your throat's not good, try and get a doctor's appointment this morning and put off the singing exam. No point going through the stress of it if it's going to do you a damage.

Hope the Theory went well yesterday and best of luck for today smile.gif

When you get there, you could try explaining the situation to the steward and see if anyone in a later slot has cancelled and if you could have their slot. Or try and get there much earlier in case someone has cancelled an earlier slot that you can have instead.

Ask the steward to let the examiner know about the situation, and if you could have a few minutes just to re-focus your thoughts, have a drink, use the toilets or whatever.

If they won't allow you more than a minute or two, ask if you can at least step outside the room for a minute. Just the process of leaving the room, taking a few deep breaths and coming back into it could help you to mentally re-focus on the next exam.

I hope it goes well Annetta - look forward to hearing how you got on smile.gif

And remember - the examiner is on your side, he/she will WANT you to do well smile.gif

Good luck Annetta.

If your throat's bad you do not need a doctors letter to pull out just someone who will testify on your behalf and put it in writing. Don't do the singing exam unless you feel better by lunch time and drink lots of hot water this morning to unblock the tubes.

The board wants you to do your best so if it can reschedule it will. Get your teacher to ring the regional office and this time don't take no for an answer.

Best of luck Annetta!

Only just read the posts that you have all posted as I was extremely busy practicing and getting worried as always!!!

I did both the exams *phew* biggrin.gif

All my pieces for singing went really well and I was really happy with all of them...the piano was out of tune though...terrible!!! blink.gif ohmy.gif

Sight-singing and aural tests were awful...i wouldnt blame her if she almost wrote I was tone deaf (that is how bad the sight singing was) Aural tests were awful as well so I am hoping to achieve a good pass!

Piano is a different matter...pieces and scales didn't go too well...I was nervous for piano but relieved from singing and therefore was a mixture of emotions in the exam room for the second time. I will be lucky if I can scrape a pass...my teachers were both really proud of me so I am really happy about that! smile.gif
