Just noticed a misprint in bar 170 of the 2nd movement. Does anyone know the actualy notes in that bar....

Which of the 3 is it????

I can't view the image, and I've just checked on John Wion's errata page and it isn't there.

Sorry not to be of more help - I haven't played the Nielsen.

Unless I'm missing something, the D doesn't need the natural sign in front of it (maybe a courtesy accidental if there was a D#/b in preceding bar?). The F with the b or the natural/b in front of it is a b in either case, so I think that the flute part and score are consistent. As to whether it should be an Eb or an Fb I don't know the piece so can't help there - would it be possible to listen to different versions to see if they are consistently one or the other?

I've always played it as written in the part/score, with the Fb, which then resolves to the Eb the next bar, right? (reaching for memory here, but I believe that is it.). I think that is consistent with the one recording I have listened to (Julius Baker, NY Phil.). Playing Eb instead of the Fb sounds less interesting to me. What recording do you have?
best regards, --Lars.

I think the natural sign in the part is just an error in placement and like the score should be in front of the D, although there is no real need for that natural sign.
I have a recording by jeniffer stinton. At the speed of dotted crotchet = approx 108 its pretty fast so i slowed down the recording by 1/2 to listen to each individual note, might have changed the pitches a little?
Thanks for your help! Will make sure I play it as Fb!
