What on earth is the fingering for the chromatic scale in thirds, hands separately, for grade 8 piano???
I can't work it out!!!! (and the book is out of stock in the shop) dry.gif

yea chromatic scales are hard to do fast. alot of beethovens pieces have that, like the 3rd mvt of moonlight. for right hand i do 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4......i dunno if its correct but i tested everything else out and thats what works best for me.

Start with 2/4
Then RH
use 1/3 2/4 with 3/5 on E/G and B/D

LH 5/3 is on C/Eb and G/Bb

There is alternative but that is the fingering I use.
The trick is to know where 5/3 comes. Once you work that out the rest sort of fits in.
