Leave it open for a week or so, preferably somewhere where it will get some fresh air, and then see if that does the trick. We often use the garage and that works a treat. For example, hubby went to the pub with mates the other evening and came home stinking of ciggie smoke on his jacket (he doesn't smoke). So we hung the jacket in the garage and overnight the smell disappeared.
This is the thing to do. Wait until the better weather, and leave it open in the garden in the sun. Hope you don't have any cats that might think it's a loo though
