Thanks Barry smile.gif It's not the best result in the world, and it's not the best that my teacher is able to get with other students - mostly the others get distinctions - but it's probably the best that I'm capable of so I'm happy with that smile.gif

I've just realised that two of my pieces were distinction level - 27 and 28, so perhaps if I concentrate on Sightreading (16) and Aural (14) next time, I would be capable of doing better ... unsure.gif blink.gif

It's already a really good mark (so don't feel like it isn't that great!) but yes, if you got 127 overall, with marks in the distinction bracket for two pieces, you're doing great and may well be capable of distinction in a future exam! But 127 is great biggrin.gif

It occurred to me that if any new member sees this thread and goes to the last post as people normally do, they'll miss the information about concerts, playdays etc that the thread was set up to give. So here's a link to the first post of the thread which gives information about how concerts, playdays etc work and how to join in playing in them smile.gif

I've been thinking recently.

About what I've ended up doing since that day back in December 2005 when I stumbled across the forum (joined a month later).

When I joined, I knew I wanted to be active in forum life. Having read the various posts, I thought 'yes, this all looks fun' - so in I went.

What I didn't know then was quite how involved I'd get.

Let's see..... Leicester (x2), Woodford, Market Harborough events (big, big fan of these biggrin.gif - if any other forum members want to organise playdays on the Harborough model, please take the plunge smile.gif ), a CD recording session (including writing/sourcing music), Leeds coming up in the summer, fairly regular appearances at SRP meetings (another thing I'm very grateful to the forum for is rekindling my interest in recorders), finally after a long time expanding my knowledge of Kodaly with the expert guidance of Cyrilla, and the encouragement to write and arrange more music.

And meeting so many wonderful people.

So, I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating - if you're a member of this forum that's not been to a forum event - do consider coming. You'll be made to feel most welcome.

I'm so pleased I decided to join the forum! yay.gif

When I joined, I had no thought at all of being active in forum life. Hmmm, when did that change then ...? unsure.gif blink.gif ph34r.gif laugh.gif blush.gif

As I recall I joined the forum because I was waiting for an exam result, couldn't work out how long it was likely to take, and thought someone might be able to help out.

THEN look what happened *eyes post count worriedly*

Indeed biggrin.gif

I'm hoping I can get to Woodford this year (as I'll be living in Norfolk from September). I need to see if it's possible to get the train down from Norfolk to Woodford, or I may be able to get my dad to drive me down there, but it may be a bit awkward. I'll try my best. smile.gif
