Well some of us might have got some today, here's my line up

Biology 1 resit - E (1st time C)
Biology 2 resit - C (1st time D)
Geography 1 resit - E (1st time E, same mark both times! ARGH)
Geography 5 - D
Geography 6 - D
General Studies 5 (Maths/Science) - B
General Studies 6 (Politics) - U

So now currently on at full A level grades
Music - D (not sat any new modules yet)
Biology - D (not sat any new modules or practical resit)
Geography - E
General Studies - D or E (not sure)

Aiming for ACC-ADD though!!!

How did you do?
nicki_flute
I was surprised to get 90/90 for Sociology 4.

So currently:

Sociology (after units 1, 2, 3, 4) = A
Music (no A2 units) = B
History (no A2 units) = A

Wanting so badly so she can go to Durham - AAA

AS maths C1: 89/100 (A)

Congratulations to those who got the grades they wanted this time round. Comiserations to those who didn't, and here's hoping things go better in the Summer.
Wobby
C1 Maths: 96/100 - A biggrin.gif
Chemistry 1st Module: 84/90 - A cool.gif

And D1 Further Maths: 51/100 or something - D sad.gif ph34r.gif

Grr, had to go and spoil it all, didn't it! I don't know, maybe it was just a freak hard paper, which it was in comparison to the 9 or so mock ones we did, or maybe it's just because I absolutely detest applied maths (except maybe Mechanics, which I haven't got to try yet, but I do take Physics)!!! Decision is even worse than Stats... my plan is to retake it and hope for at least a B, and then make up for it using better modules later on.

~Wobby~
Rainbow
Congrats on the results Wobby, you beat me in C1.

Don't worry about D1, I've just started studying it and I have to admit that it is pretty awful sad.gif

Thanks Sarah!

ARGH! I re-sat a French module for AS (I dropped at the end of last year) because I was 12 marks off an A overall. Now, I'm one mark off an A! So close, but I'm past caring! My resit of C2 maths went well (92) but then my C3 was 67... not so well. I need 3 As so I'm nose to the grindstone as of tomorrow. Music and Spanish don't have Jan modules but they should be fine!

Well done to everyone!

Graph theory and linear programming are actually quite exciting when done on computers, but incredibly tedious when one has to do an algorithm by hand dry.gif. I've just had a look at what's on D1 and it's some quite good stuff but presented in a very bland manner which neglects to mention how useful it is and what it can be used for - for instance, it doesn't mention grabbing a copy of lp_solve and actually using LP to do interesting things.

As long as you are doing your best (and not overdoing it and making yourself ill) it doesn't matter how everyone else is managing. We are not all the same and our strengths and weaknesses lie in different areas.

nicki_flute
Because, the results were released today, but some schools take a day to process them smile.gif (that's for all subjects as well as maths)
PianoSecrets-x
Ah ok smile.gif
Rainbow
Yes, we have an electronic thingy that sorts it all out for the teachers.

Congrats to everyone and don't worry Oddball, I'm sure you'll have done well.

Oh, I agree with you on that, it would probably be more exciting if I knew more about computer programming! And it is more useful than say, logarithms. (IMHO)

Well done for some great results, folks.

And yet everyone has been stressing since September about how badly they're gonna do, and we see nearly everyone came out with As and Bs rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Honestly, there's point stressing over anything. You know you're smart but you just don't want to admit it and try and gain sympathy by saying you think you've done rubbish. What a load of TRIPE that is.

Granted I'm biast and don't need an offer as high as AAAa or something (the a being an A grade at an AS level) but still...geeze.

(Can't you tell I've had a bad day?)
Oddball
Computing: 97, but not sure what out of - we think it's 105, so an A there.

Maths: 79% - less than one mark from an A!

Er, we're not actually trying to gain sympathy. I only ever say I am stressed, when I really am, the amount of work at times is crazy, and I certainly didn't expect to do that well. Also, it depends how different people define "rubbish". What is bad for me, is great for someone else. And, I need those AAA grades, so I care a lot.

Well, the biggest total I've ever seen is 105, so I reckon you've got at least 92% there. I can't tell you how pleased I am for you smile.gif All that work you did for Maths paid off smile.gif

Chris, don't talk nonsense. It's entirely possible for someone who is smart to be just as insecure and unsure as someone who isn't as smart, and if someone has to get As then it's just as stressful for them to work hard and get As as it is for someone else to work hard and get the Cs or Bs or Ds or whatever that they need. Just because someone is academically able doesn't mean that getting As is easy, and just because someone gets As doesn't mean they're ultra-bright - often it is the fruit of lots of hard work and stress. And few, if any, folks on here post "Oh I'm stressed" to gain sympathy.

I "only" needed 3 Bs for uni, didn't make doing the exams or getting the results ANY less stressful.

blaNX...piano_newbie
Maths C1 - 83% A (total shock!)
Critical thinking - 128 marks B
Media - 65% C
Sooo happy bit disappointed about media but found out today that for some reason almost everyone got really low grades. Definately surprised at critical thinking because our teacher made ue take the harder exam first so that we can resit it if we don't do well.

WELL DONE EVERYONE - GREAT RESULTS!!!! tongue.gif

now there's just about a hundred more exams to take in May/June biggrin.gif

Well done! Don't get me started on May/June exams *Has clashes coming out of her ears*
pianocelloflute
I got my AS module results:
A- 98/100 Theology ohmy.gif (I thought I was going to drop theology, not now!)
A- 98/100 Maths, core 1 smile.gif
A- 93/100 Further Maths, mechanics

But to be told, I had to speak to my headteacher over the phone- very scary! unsure.gif

Then, today, to complicate matters, all my books that I have used since September have been taken in for inspection purposes. Left me with very little homework for the weekend! biggrin.gif
(apart from perfecting my composition unsure.gif )

Well Done every one else, only June to do now!

Well done on the great results by the way smile.gif
pianocelloflute
Well, the college/school have their, once every six years, inspection. I hadn't been picked, until today!
All my teachers and I had thought this was strange- but we hadn't mentioned it to the head. I am the only Further Maths, Physics, and Music student in my year- so obviously they needed them, thinking about it!
It is very annoying, as the ones who were picked 2 weeks ago have gone through and taken out all bad work, and I had no chance to do this- I have the worst presentation ever (my teachers would argue this point for ages!), so not the most impressive set of notes to take it!
Oh well, their loss, not mine! tongue.gif

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I got an A in my C1 maths!! 84/100 biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

One boy in my class got 100!! ohmy.gif
Lixandreth
I didn't get any. sad.gif

None of my A2 exams or AS resits were January so everything is reliant on summer exams now. *Sigh*
miss_tickle_thea
Had one: A2 History: 71/90- B , so frustrating, that was 1 mark off an A! But still in an A overall so doesn't really matter. Still standing at 4As! (but with 10 exams to take in summer sad.gif)

What's made it worse grrr is that my A level recital which was meant to have been tonight has been "unavoidably" postponed due to a "crisis!" I had myself all psyched up and... mad.gif Am doing it tomorrow instead, because am taken up with cathedral gap year interviews over last two weeks of term.

I am so annoyed!
nicki_flute
Wow, congratulations to blaNX...pianonewbie, pianocelloflute, PianoSecretsx, Missticklethea for some really good results biggrin.gif

The May/June exams are going to be some of the scariest things I have ever done - the whole "your future depends on how well you answer these questions" make me blink.gif

Lixandreth - I know the feeling. Well, nearly. Sociology is my most confident subject, and I'd rather have done a History or Music module in January (not that I think I could have) rather than in June. ph34r.gif

Misstickle - Aw! How really annoying! All the best for tomorrow though. smile.gif

No.. I'm not going to get my paper back, but only because that costs money!
