Full Version: Alto Sax- Gerswin- Rapsody In Blue

I've not long been takin sax lessons and I'm workin on my grade 4 cos I could read music fairly good at the beginning.
We are doin rapsody in blue or whatever by G.Gerswin and I was wonderin if you found the trills hard to get goin right.
Also the first four bars, they are a bit tricky.Let me know what you think.

Hey. I've been playing Alto Sax since October (going on 6 months). I can't do the exam because of a mix up with school exams but I've been playing the pieces. I started Rhapsody in Blue a few weeks ago, looked at the ornaments, and said "yeah right". I took about a week and got the whole piece into my head and fingers. My teacher went through the ornamentation with me on Thursday. I don't mnd the first bit once I got it into my head (the A B C# Deeeeeeeee) but the next few notes are fiddley and annoying (CD C B C I think) and are proving impossible at this present moment. That said it's really good fun once you get acouple of bars in to it.
