Hey,
So, I am retaking the composition unit of my AS Music work. I got a C for my composition, and the basic consensus is that my piano part writing needs to be made more exciting, and I need better harmonies. As my piano skills are rather iffy, I don't have a clue really. So has anyone got any tips?

What was your original piano part like? Did you use 7ths, suspensions, chromatic chords in your harmony?

Trust me, my original part in all my theme and variations was very boring! Mainly because I don't know how to create something playable.

In one variation I used 7ths and 9ths and things, but I am not really too sure about putting in chromatics chords/suspensions ph34r.gif

I used to have this same problem, Nicki, being a pitiful pianist.

If you have any pieces in a similar style in your flute music collection, what about having a look and seeing how composers have made piano parts exciting and appropriate?

Thankyou. I think I'll do that.
