Just wondering how many people on here have been competing smile.gif

We played yesterday, and came 4th in the 4th section. Gutted to miss out on the nationals by one place, but we're promoted at last!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Hope it went ok for everyone else!

I played earlier today, we went on at about 12ish. Played 5th. We came 8th out of 20 in the 4th section smile.gif

Was really good fun as I have never done a contest before and didn't really know much about them smile.gif

Well done on coming 4th smile.gif

Congrats chris for coming 4th in such a large field - My band came 10th in the first section again in Torquay but it was an improvement on last year when we came last. Unfortunatly it looks like we will be going back to the second section mad.gif oh well never mind

Bad luck sad.gif . I only heard a couple of bands in the first section, Bodmin and St. Keverne, and the standard seemed good. Didn't hear you though (I assume you play for Forest of Dean Brass?). I liked the piece, although I wouldn't have fancied the sop part particuarly biggrin.gif

I really didn't like the music that the Championship, 1st, 2nd and 3rd section had to play. I thought the 4th section pieces were by far alot nicer....not that I am bias tongue.gif

I do indeed - I play 3rd Cornet, so my part was pretty easy, but the solo cornet part. that didn't look too pretty!

I didn't play this time - had a concert in axminster. But my mum did - our band came 16th in the Toquay regionals - 4th section.

I played on Sunday and we came 4th in the L&SC 4th Section out of 23 bands. I'm so happy as last year we did not do ourselves justice at all and came 19th. Well done to everyone who competed!
