Hey. I thought I'd start a thread to see how all the people who have been preparing for exams this examination period got on. I got 134 for grade 8 piano, what about you? Leave your ages if you wish, it's interesting to see what talent is out there. I'm 14

yeah well done.... my grade 8 piano was 117...grade 8 singing was 123... i only spent 6 months for each grade 8... planning to get my theory and organ done...

Good for you! My best student got 136 for Grade 2 this year. I have to admit I have never, ever, even gotton above 130 for Grades 2-8. in fact, the marks were gradually declining the higher in grade I got. LoL!
Are the exams also held June-August like over here in Malaysia?

te's exam session begins in august to december...then starts again around march...

I'm still waiting for my Grade 5 Piano and Grade 4 Sax results - hopefully it won't be too long now!

I just got a distinction on my grade 6 piano performance, and I think it was a 130, (I cut that one kind of close), so far I've gotten all distinctions except for grade 4, which was a merit, but that's ok with me too.

Hi all. felicitations to all who passed their exams. Unforunately I failed my grade 4 violin (97) . My teacher said perhaps I should try for the December session, but I just can't look at those pieces any more; I've tried.

The main comment through the report is intonation was variable and insecure, (presumable when I shifted position).

Should I look at the new grade 4 when it comes out, or should I go for grade 5??? I would welcome any comments or suggestions.

if u ar fed up with ur old pieces...try some new pieces to see what they're like....even if ur final decision is that u ar playing new pieces...u should also practise the old ones to brush up the techniques

I am still waiting for my Grade 7 piano. Took it in June. Should be arriving next month.

i did my G7 piano(125) and G3 bassoon(134) last yr.
But i failed in the scales part of the piano....i might get a distinction if i didnt fail...

I got merit for my grade 7 piano... maybe I'll get distinction for grade 8

I got 130 in Grade 5 last year, and I think I'll get a merit for Grade 7 this year.

I'm waiting for my DipABRSM results, they should be here soon . Last year I got 131 for grade 7 and 127 for grade 8. (I'am aware that this is not a harpsichord forum but I figured I'd be a bit left out in the trombone forum.

why is it that the summer term exams seem to take forever in coming?!

a exam i did in march was fairly quick in arriving but this one seems to be taking forever. i want it before i go on holiday or i wont get it from my teacher till i go back to school.

My grade 7 exam results, in March, only took... wait for it... SIX DAYS to arrive!!!! Which was just as well because I was really depressed and thought I'd failed... then I got a merit!!!

im getting really bored of waiting now! i have to get my teachers number of a friend who also did an exam and then ring my teacher up. adn i wantit before i go away! i go this satursday for a week but im in thsi country so its not as bad, but then after a few days of being back im off to menorca so itll be more difficult then!
