Inspired by the Philharmonia of the Nations, I suggest that we declare a truce in the War of the Roses, and I offer this, er, olive branch to the Red Rose Commanders, Goldfinch and YAP, on behalf of the White Rose Commanders, Skylark and Fsharpminor (hope that's OK with you pardner wink.gif )

And as a token of peace, I suggest we exchange niceties about each other's county biggrin.gif

I'll start with ...

You've got the Bridgewater Hall, the most beautiful and atmospheric concert hall wub.gif

My home town used to be in Yorkshire laugh.gif.

As second in command to Skylark, how about a delicious black pudding as a good thing from Lancs.
(Hesitates before suggesting Blackpool)

"Peace" is all very well, but just remember white roses that if we extol everything Yorkshire and do not compromise then we have not melted and instead are "Iceberg" (s) IPB Image

I thought your post on the "War" thread meant that you were on the Yorkshire side, but now I'm thoroughly confused blink.gif If you're still on the Yorkshire side, you should be extolling Lancashire on this thread! Have you switched sides??? wink.gif

Hang on Keighley is in the West Riding? Or is there a Lancastrian version too.
skylark
Lancashire's got Bygone Times at Eccleston where all that luvverly sheet music is!

(Doesn't look as if your fellow commander has accepted a truce does it YAP unsure.gif )

Thanks to those enlightened Lancastrians, I've got a co-op in my village, and very useful it is too.

The Henry-Watson Library is at Manchester University.
