i have a study in cut time at allegro moderato, can someone suggest a metronome mark please

crotchet = 112?

To me that marking would depend on the note lengths used in the study. If mostly crotchets/minims the suggestion of crotchet = 112 may seem a little too moderato......if all semiquavers and faster it may seem too allegro. It is in cut time which possibly suggests crotchet = 112 may be too slow to maintain the feel of 2 beats in the bar.

What is the study.....someone may be able to give a better answer if they know it.

sorry, yes it's 2 minim beats in a bar, but it's mostly quavers

the piece is the stamtiz cappricio sonata in a major for flute, 1st movement
