Is anyone working on Grade 6 Piano peices? If so, what peices are you learning?

I am working through A3, B3 and C1.

Anyone else?

I'm doing

A- Sonata in F (A3)
B- prelude in C# minor (B1)
C- Rumba toccata (C2)

My grade 6 is on the 27th

I have only just taken my grade 5 and I have found that there is a huge jump between the standard of the pieces.
I am going to be looking at Rumba toccata I know that for sure...not sure about the others yet!
I know these aren't going to be easy but considering I have only been playing the piano for 2 years that doesn't appear too bad!!!

Grade 0 - Grade 6 in 2 years??? is that good or not??? ohmy.gif

It sounds good, but isn't it grade 0-5 in two years rather than to grade 6 if you haven't started it yet?

Well done anyway, I hope you do well.

I think that you'd benefit form playing a lot of things before thinking about looking at grade 6 exam pieces. It's better to work up to the next level first instead of spending a long time struggling to learn the exam pieces.

Fingers crossed for your results. smile.gif

The Rumba Toccata seems to be a popular choice! (And quite rightly too!)

I did for my exam:
- Sonata in F.
- Melodie. (Can't see many people who've done that!)
- Rumba Toccata. (Y)

Melodie is a most gorgeous piece! However I couldn't quite master the pedal so I didn't deliever the desired affect. Ah well!
Definately Rumba Toccata though, that piece is immense!
