Anyone else do it?

I studied jazz vocals at uni and given that we've this jazz forum on here was a bit disappointed to see no threads on it! Any other jazz vocalists on here?

Hello there, I've dabbled a bit, but find it quite tricky without having a rhythm section to play with! sad.gif

I've never actually done jazz singing but I'd be interested to explore in the future!

I've dipped in and out, but somehow I dont think songs from "Chicago" are quite "Jazz"...

Would love to give it a try, anybody got any good songs to start with?

I got a good fakebook (ie big book of jazz songs which has the chords and the tune) and just learnt loads out of that! With a teacher though, I hasten to add. It's a good idea to work out what key you like things in too so you can say 'Cry me a river... in A minor please' to your band cool.gif

we tried some scat singing in jazz band - it was fun, but I found it hard not to put words in! laugh.gif I would like to give it a go properly - then again there's so many things I would like to do! tongue.gif
