Hi Folks

When I was learning guitar I found buying loads of guitar magazines helpful and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any piano or keyboard magazines?

I tried a quick google search but didn't quite find what I was after...

Thanks!

Well, Pianist is a good start. http://www.pianistmagazine.com/

For more serious pianists, then International Piano. http://www.pianomagazine.com/

Have a look at this thread which talks about a couple of piano/keyboard magazines.

The thread that Skylark mentions was started by me and I used to be able to get from the shelf a newsagent here in Headingley. Unfortunately the shop has closed, and I havent seen that magazine anywhere else.
Anyway they have a website www.pianistmagazine.com and you can subscribe, I think its only 6 issues a year.

PS sorry just seen that Freddy Chopin mentioned it!

I used to subscribe to Pianist but didn't get around to renewing my subscription. International Pianist looks quite good. Can anyone tell me what they think of it.

I like International Piano because it has very well written articles, news on major piano competitions, and reviews of recordings and newly released music scores. It also has masterclasses on practising/sightreading etc. It has a more 'serious' tone overall compared to the Pianist Magazine. Have a look at the summary of the contents of the current issue:

Thanks for that, Frederic Chopin. I think I will subscribe to it. There is also another magazine simply called Piano which other people might like. I got it for a while but didn't seem to get around reading it. Pianist was all right to begin with but I like the idea of a more serious magazine which goes into the interpretation of repertoire.

Is this the one you mean?

You need to be careful when you call your newsagent enquiring about its whereabouts - "Hello, it's me, is my Pianist in yet?"

I'll get me coat.
