Piano - Schubert Impromptu No.2 in A flat Op.142
Ensemble - Poulenc Sonata for 2 Clarinets 2nd movement
Woodwind - (descant recorder) 2 Bruggen Etudes
(sopranino recorder) Chopin Variations on Non Piu Mesta
(flute) Debussy Syrinx
Well yeah I failed piano miserably despite only having 3 other competitors against me who did the Maple Leaf Rag, Debussy Arabesque No.1 and some jazz piece. The Debussy won.
Ensemble I only heard what I did with my friend, but we didn't win! saying that we did quite well for a weeks work and the judge LOVES Poulenc
Woodwind was my strongest point, though I fluffed the Chopin up a fair bit, played the Bruggen WAY too fast and didn't really make the Debussy very...professional.
Needless to say, my Bruggen etudes won me the Senior Woodwind prize! After 7 years of entering the competition I've finally WON!
One comment that came up for all my entries was that all the pieces I did were very difficult to pull off effectively, and I did a pretty good job of them...though that's up for debate
Point is, I FINALLY WON!!! WOO!
