Has anyone got exam results yet?
If you have, can you post the date of your exam and when you got the result (and also the result if you don't mind telling). I'm just interested to see how long they're taking as I'm getting really nervous!!

I took mine on the 16th and am worried that I'm not going to have got my results before the easter holidays. I'm not sure I could cope with having to wait another 2 weeks.

Does where you live matters a lot?
Cos I have been looking ard the forum for the expected waiting time, which I concluded is between 1 to 3 weeks.
However, as I am in Singapore (Asia Pacific), I heard that it could take 3 - 4 months?!!!
Is that true? Im so eager to know my results. =P

Grade 6 is totally different.
If you are considering it I'd suggest swotting up a bit more on the grade 5 first until you can reliably score 80+ on past papers. This way the foundations will be more secure.
Which parts of the grade 5 did you have most difficulty with?

I found the transposition (just minor thirds) very difficult! I just couldn't picture it on the piano and I only went down two semitones instead of three! I ended up from B flat major at G# minor, and thought something must have been wrong! The annoying thing was a minor third transposition turned up on both papers I sat! I managed to get 0 in that section the 1st time (haven't got the breakdown of my marks yet this time so I don't know how it went in that section this time.) I also find intervals quite difficult, especially as I only began learning theory at the start of this year for the first time. Things like naming chords are absolutely fine. Also just another thing, does anyone know any good websites which may help me to prepare for some of the grade 8 oral tests?
Thanks.

lalala- I found grade 8 aural really hard too, but I just got my family to help me do a little bit every day, and it is only worth 18 marks in the exam anyway

Congratulations. Great result
I know what you mean about the aural; I've just done grade 8 too on flute and failed miserably in the aural part. At least I did well on the rest of it, just scraping a distinction.
Last year I took grade 8 and was under so much pressure with GCSEs etc. that I didn't do so well in it. I got 123 and was disapointed. I kind of expected it, as my playing was terrible on the day, nerves got the better of me. Retaking a year later proved to be good, I felt much better about the exam as a whole, especially the playing, which was the main reason for retaking it. I made sure to take a bottle of water in with me and took a sip before each piece. The venue was better too, in a church, where the accoustics were great. I feel I can take the next step onto the DipABRSM knowing that I got a good result in the gr.8.
Have you thought about what you want to do next?
emy!
