doing lots of scales are good for that, and lots of arppegios just going up and up. there is this one scale i was taught
(UP) CDEFGABCD
then (down) CBAGFED
then (up) EFGABCDEF
then down EDCBAGF
then up GABCDEFGA
then down GFEDCBAG
then up ABCDEFGAB
then down AGFEDCB
then up CDEFGABC
do that for two octaves and over staccato and legato quavers should help!
It takes time tho, you cant expect miracles over night. lip slurs help aswell. If you havent got it, a big investment is the Arban Trumpet Method, but it costs about £25 I think. It bigger than a phone directory, and have LOTS of lip slurs, studies for staccato, double tonguing, triple tonguning, and have the grade 7-8 stuides in, and theme and variations.
Also playing for longer and playing in chamber groups/brass quintets will help.
hope that helps

If you're interested in ways that really work to expand your range then you might find Calisthenics for Brass by Carmine Caruso incredibly useful.
every student i've ever used them with has increased high range by at least 5 tones - sometimes by over an octave.
it's important to remember that if you don't have enough air going into the horn at a fast enough speed/ high enough pressure you will find it difficult.
James stamp warm ups are useful for achieving the right focus of embouchre and help keep a check on mouthpiece pressure
hope this helps

Great book that I love it!!! Also what does anyone think of the Allen Vizzuti Trumpet method (Book 1) or "Breathe!" by Paul Archibald? I think they're great! especially Vizzuti for building high register!

There's loads in the dreaded Arban book. I don't know what page it is but I use the first exercise in mixed intervals, which is really good as well for jumping large intervals.
