well.......there are quite a few books really worth getting if you're a beginner cornet player (the folowing books vary in level of difficulty....the first 1 is for people still learning the fingerings.....as i dont know your exact level of playing, i shall list them all):

Team Brass: Introduces notes and simple tunes.
Winners Galore: A book full of simple to medium level brass music. (Available with accompnimant)
Easy Winners: A bit more advanced than the above book.

Also: How Brass Players Do It......that is full of technical exercies and warm ups.

I'm pretty confident with the fingerings; though sometimes get confused with a B and Bb. Something to do with the fingerings of these notes on a flute.

Yay another brass player lol!

how brass players do it is a great book for excersises in ranges and flexibility.
also Arban Cornet method - big think book has loads of excersices, and studies in.
If you like tunes the 1st and 2nd book of trumpet solos is good.

Have fun!

Your confusion with B and Bb is quite common.

One thing which might help you remember which is which, is to be aware that the first valve lowers an open note (eg top C) by 2 semitones, the second valve by 1 semitone and the third valve by 3 semitones. Therefore the lower of any two adjacent notes using either 1st or 2nd will allways be 1st valve. Same with F(1) and F#(2).

Hope this helps.

when I learnt the trumpet I just downloaded a fingering chart and played hymns. Association i find is the best way to learn I think. Especially with the flute.
