hi i'm currently learning pieces like fantasie-impromptu adn when i add the pedal in, it makes the piece sound blurry. It seems to happen with alot of fast pieces. Does anyone know what i should do?

How often are you pedalling? I haven't got a copy in front of me at the moment, at a guess, I think it should be every half bar? What you may need to do is work on the balance of the hands and the clarity of the RH inparticular, as if the balance is wrong ie LH quavers are too loud, then it will sound blurry. If you can get the LH as soft as possible and bring the RH out more clearly you may find the sound less blurry......try it anyway... smile.gif
Also try practising the RH staccato with a finger staccato to aid the clarity and precision of the finger action and this may also help to make the RH clearer........ hope this helps! smile.gif

thanks for the advice, smile.gif i've realised now that i'm playing the LH too loudly, so i'll try to soften it. Thanks again.

You could experiment with different amount of pedalling, i.e. half-pedalling, quarter-pedalling, etc.
