Hi Everyone..... Am hoping someone might have the answer!!

I have come into possession of an old upright Piano, which plays beautifully. The only problem is, that the Middle C Key is chipped on the right hand edge, about 3mm or 4mm. Is a little sharp, and as Middle C is quite a popular key to play, I am wondering is there any solution of fixing this? I would hate for any of my students to 'cut' their finger on it, so this particular Piano will have to be 'out of use' for the time being.

I am not sure whether the key could be replaced? Or maybe capped or something?? I have never had a broken key on a Piano before!!

Any suggestions or ideas would helpful!!

Many thanks

I would have thought the answer is to consult with your piano tuner? He/she ought to be able to fix this for you.

Thanks, yes will be doing this..... wasnt sure whether anyone else had other ideas.
A broken key is all new me, never had anything go wrong with any Piano before.

We had a key on one of ours that was missing its ivory top. The tuner replaced it with no problems, I think had whole keys in his van. I'm sure with all the old and useless pianos going around there should be plenty of spare keys kicking about!
