I noted on an earlier post that since Alice Coltrane died suddenly, we have been running around getting to gigs. BUT there are limited funds and now we are in a pickle. Cecil Taylor Quartet featuring Anthony Braxton is on at the South Bank on July 8th - Great! However the following day, at the same Centre, Monday the 9th July is Ornette Coleman!

We dont want to sit up in the gods with a cheap ticket on each night - so will push the boat out and get decent tickets, this will mean only one event, but which one should we go to or should we go to both sit with the gods and soak up the atmosphere.

I'd definitely choose one and get decent seats. As to which I'm not too familiar with either - I've listened to a bit of Ornette, but have to be in the right mood for it. I can imagine that live in a small venue he'd be amazing.
