Hiya.

Would anyone have any suggestions for music for a trio - piano, flute, violin or indeed written for other instruments but which could be easily adapted to these instruments.

Not majorly difficult please - managable - intermediate standard.

There is a nice one by C.P.E. Bach in Bflat that you might like. Is it for fun, or a performance or an exam?

For performance but to be enjoyable. Ill look for that one by C.P.E. Bach

Any suggestions for something later?

I played a piano trio this year for my GCSE ensemble pice which was really fun to play( a bit squashed though with 3 people on the same piano tongue.gif). It's called 'The Secret' and it's by Leonard Gautier (the version i played was edited by Fanny Waterman)

Well, no, but some music is fun to play together for one's own pleasure and not so much fun for listeners and music for exams often has to fit certain criteria. . Many of my piano pupils love to play Chopsticks for example but I hope that they never inflict their performances on anyone else! blink.gif

Agreed! The works I have in mind will be performed and assessed so something in the range of chopsticks - well..... maybe not so suitable!!!!!!!!!!!!! But loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!! - There is a cool video on You tube of chopsticks - I think Irish Loony may have started the thread about a week ago - it was great fun to watch!!

The Mozart 'Kegelstatt' trio in E flat might be adaptable.
In any case, whilst the original is for clarinet/cello/piano, I know the top part can be played on a violin or the other string part on a viola.
