Yesterday Mum and Dad told us we could either go to Center Parcs for a week, or GREECE for 2 weeks!! Roll on Greece! Everyone (me, my brothers and sis) chose Greece. We've only been abroad once before and it wasn't that amazing - tenerife; it was a bit dirty and the ppl weren't very friendly. But we've looked at write-ups about kefalos yiannis [which is where we're staying] and it looks preetty good!!

Has anyone else been there? What did you think?

Where is everyone else going, out of interest??

Wow smile.gif We love Greece and have been there a few times. Enjoy it smile.gif

We never know where we are going until about a week before, we tend to book last minute.

London for a month (not actually a holiday, but I'm not actually going be doing anything apart from touristy stuff...)

Hong Kong for 6 weeks.

Maybe Greece and Italy for 2 weeks at the end of September.

Going to Scotland for 2 weeks, and I may be going down to Lewes again later on.

My teaching room will be my "holiday" this year but without any students in it. It needs re-decorating, cleaning and tidying, a new carpet and that will be my holiday job (and income from fees) sorted! laugh.gif

Seriously, other half and I don't actually like holidays, so no point spending money on them if you then take the whole time away wishing you were back home doing something useful.

melody_maker
I didn't go anywhere in the Easter holidays, but I'm going on the Battlefields trip in June, and we're going to Ireland for a week in the summer hols smile.gif I think we're away to Portugal in October too.

I don't particularly fancy going on any trips or anything - i have travelled too much and i don't really like to go to airports at all - they make me feel uncomfortable.. My parents usually go somewhere every summer but I couldn't really be bothered to leave home becos its boiling in the summer in hong kong. Xmas - revision time, dun really go anywhere far.

onequirkypianist, enjoy ur stay in hk but i wonder what you can do in hk for 6 weeks... which airline are you going to travel with? The food on Cathay Pacific is the best; Virgin Atlantic has got bigger screens at the back of each seat; British Airways is cool too, but dun hv tv games.. AirFrance and Lufthansa have great baggage allowance..

btw, when are you going there? If time fits maybe we can meet up if you want (provided that im in hk during that time as i will be doing an internship in the uk for 6-8 weeks some time this summer).

I'm going to Hexham for 2 weeks in July to play golf! yay.gif
Lixandreth
Off to Paris for a few days with captivate.me and another friend of ours, for said friend's 18th at the end of July.

Then spending a bit of time in Tenerife with some old friends from school who I don't see as much these days.

And a few days in Morocco as well. biggrin.gif

It's an oh so busy summer for me.
Oddball
No hols for me sad.gif

Having said that, I went skiing in February half term with another family. Which was cool.
Nocturne
I'm going to one of the Center Parcs in Germany with my family. I can't remember the name, but I do know that Musik-produktiv (a really large music store) it rather near, so I'm persuading my family to make a trip to it wink.gif

I've never thought of going abroard to Center Parcs - but then with three children the added cost would put us off. Center Parcs is hugely expensive but we can't afford the time off and so can only have a short holiday anyway & so it has to be a good one.

I don't think there are any notable music stores where we're headed.

The Old Lady
Off to Cornwall in the summer for 2 weeks. On a farm in a village called St. Teath. It's quite near to Port Issac where they film "Doc Martin" My biggest likes surfing, the little one likes sand castles, and we like the coastline.
Bev.
Firebird
A week on tour in Venice, a week in Hertfordshire (which is all of 45 minutes away from home!) for a music course and a week's family holiday which is yet to be decided smile.gif

I'm so expensive ph34r.gif
salrec
The Outer Hebrides. We love it there. Husband & I have been about 10 times, can't think of a better place in the world. Children have been twice, also think it's paradise. We stay on a small island, just yards from the beach. Nothing to do except enjoy the amazing scenery. Only problem is, it's three days travelling for us, and we're still in the UK. As my Australian neighbour says, she could get home and back in the time.

I did a series of concerts in Cornwall many years ago and we played on in a little church at St Teath. We all christened him the Patron Saint of dentists! It was on that tour that the mouthpiece of one of my recorders began to crack open mid performance of a Vivaldi piece. biggrin.gif

We have a holiday dilemma - band tour last week to Menorca was mostly rainy, so we may change our summer plan (which was to spend 7-10 days in France), and go package-style to somewhere hot and beachy, as the kids feel they have missed out a bit on the sand-castle business. However they also want to go to Disneyland - I have heard such bad reports about the one in Paris so am a bit put-off that option, and hubby keeps hinting that if the pound-dollar relationship stays this favourable, then Florida may be possible...

I'd be quite happy with a week in our "usual" cottage in the Lake District though, but have been thoroughly out-voted on that one this year sad.gif
BabyBanana
I went there once and Absolutely hated Greece!

I don't know why I just hated it because it was like a 2* hotel and there was absolutely nothing to do etc.
