How does one set about 'learning to improvise' for grade 1 piano. Is there any way which is best to begin with? Shall I mes s around with chord progressions?

You may find singing a short phrase or riff helpfull - then try and play it. Or play the chord progression and just see in your head what sounds good and try and play that. (play what you hear!)
