Is anyone doing this for an exam peice (Grade one C:3) it seems to me that this is possibly the most boring piece.

haha, i like that - my favourites have to be Allegro in F, Banges Herzelein and the Cuckoo Clock, I Like Sarabanda quite alot also.

I was going to do that piece!
For Grade 1 my 3rd piece seems impossible to do!
First I was doing Mobies
Sencond I was doing Cukoo Clock
And now im doing the Jazz piece!!

Im very nervouse about my grade 1! It's in July or June !!!!!!

YEP, boring to me so I have learnt all of the pieces in the book but that one

Just wondering what C4, 5 & 6 are like

C4 is pretty nice - floaty, with (iirc) both hands in the treble.

C5 is rhythmically slightly intricate with swung quavers - quite good fun, needs to go fast though and I wonder if the recommended metronome marking of 176 (or even the modified 162 in the teachers' notes!) is pushing it a bit for the grade ?

Haven't got a copy of C6.

C6 is a slow (But boring!) peice, I suppose because it's slow the timing has to be right not too fast and not too slow, the piece never grew on me haha

Flying above the Clouds on the alternative list is lovely. Floaty and dreamy - suits all the girls so well! There is supposed to be pedalling, but most of my G1 students can't reach so we're not stressing about that. Definitely worth looking at.
