I was so saddened to hear last night of the death of 'Slava' last week at the age of eighty.

He was a true ambassador for music and an extremely fine player. I believe he was still playing and teaching right up to the end.

He'll be missed as one of those 'Great' musicians of the last generation.

Yes, he will be much missed, both as a musician, and as a person by those who have met him.
