I would like to know what would be the best beginning method book to use for individual learning of the trumpet. Right now I have a couple of books - one is "Play Trumpet Today, Level 1 and the other one is "Standard of Excellence" Book 1. I would like some opinions about these books, especially the "Standard of Excellence" one. Is it too band oriented for me to work with individually? I am an adult and am not in a band and do not have any plans to be in one. I just like to play at home for my own enjoyment. I will appreciate any advice or opinons anyone would have about beginning instruction books for the trumpet.

hi ckee
When I was learning I used the tune day book which was great and i also have seen the team brass books which are also great. Both of the books have some group learning aspect but i think so do all books.

Hope that helped

Thank you for your reply to my post about method books for the trumpet. The one you mentioned - A Tune A Day sounds good. Maybe I can find that one.
