I just discovered yesterday-we will be finally learning guitar in our music lessons! i can't wait! Anybody else learnt/learning guitar in their music lessons?

Good luck with that Anisha, I'm not typing the following to sound like a harbinger of doom but I'm afraid my experience of school guitar teachers has been pretty poor. I teach classical guitar, I've had a stream of pupils from schools come to me with hopeless right hands who have needed remedial work beforeI could start to teach them properly. If you just want to strum then you may be ok but if you want to learn how to play classical guitar, pray you get a specialist or go private.

I've never learnt the guitar at school (we do Keyboards instead) but I can play it, I've got my Grade 1 guitar exam coming up in July.
