Hi, new to forum, have been playing clarinet for 6 months now, would like to here from other 'adult' learners!

Fred
Hello, welcome to the forum! I hope you're enjoying learning the clarinet. Do you have a teacher? I learned clarinet up to G5 some years ago, but my eacher couldn't go beyond that level, and I've been too busy (lazy! ph34r.gif ) to find myself a new one! I restarted piano lessons a couple of years ago and am wrestling with theory at the moment.

If you want to give yourself something to work towards the forum-organised concerts and recordings are a great motivator, as well as a good way to meet like-minded adults! wink.gif

Hi. thanks for the reply, i have a teacher i go to every week, not working towards any grades at the moment, on grade 4 studies and peices at the moment, managing to control the squeaks most of the time!

Concerts sound good.

Hello and welcome! I am also an adult learner and also started the clarinet a few months ago - currently between teachers at the moment. I'm enjoying it a lot and wish I'd taken it up years ago. In fact I'm enjoying the experience of learning an instrument so much I've now got my eye on the piano that I've just bought for my daughter (age 7) that's being delivered this Saturday and am very tempted to have lessons for that too if finances allow!

Good luck with the clarinet, although if you're on grade 4 pieces already after just 6 months it doesn't sound like you need it smile.gif
