Today we have BALAKIREF (5.45 Thirsk)

This is a really useful and enlightening thread biggrin.gif Thanks fsharpminor!

I commented a few days ago wink.gif I regularly look up terms or composers that I don't know when I come across them on this thread - like I said, it's really useful, and entertaining too smile.gif
fsharpminor
MOODY TUNES was second at 5-1 this afternoon, but MUSICAL CHIMES was 3rd at 50-1 ! That would have
been good eachway bet ! yay.gif rofl.gif
fsharpminor
Yesterdays results in previous post.

Today with good chances we have CHAMPAGNE ROSSINI (2.10 Market Rasen)
and ORCHESTRATOR (3.00 Folkestone)
Less fancied is MUSICAL SCRIPT (3.20 Wolverhampton)

If you class MEDLEY (8.10 Mewmarket) as being musical, it maybe has the best chance of any of them.
fsharpminor
Ah well the afternoon runners all failed sad.gif . Maybe MEDLEY will do something.

skylark
I don't suppose they're likely to name a horse after a bird either! biggrin.gif

Some good results yesterday.

DIMINUTO won at 10-1
SUITE FRANCAISE came second at 9-4 (Yes it did run , Angie)
MUSIC REVIEW came second at 12-1

The birds all failed, but my tip of the day (Not for the WELPS) was LITTLE KNICKERS which won at 33-1 !!

I havent seen a paper yet today, back later !
fsharpminor
Not a lot today

Most musical are:

L'OISEAU DE FEU (Wolverhampton 7.20) (Stravinsky!)

SILVER PRELUDE (Same race)

Some bird club ones:-

LITTLE FINCH (Pontefract 2.45)
WINGS IN MOTION (Pontefract 5.15)
STORM PETREL (Lingfield 3.00)

None of the above six look like having a chance, but Little Knickers yesterday didnt look like it either !

fsharpminor

Birds failed.

Today we have:-

ANGEL VOICES (Warwick 4.05) approx 12-1
ATLANTIC RHAPSODY (Nottingham 7.40) outsider

FRENCH OPERA (Folkestone 7.20) poss second favourite at 7-2

Bird club entries are WING EXPRESS (Newmarket 1.30) 10-1

maggiemay
Well done the musical geegees !

Yes I remember Kes - although I don't think I saw the film. Can remember the ad posters though.
DaisyChain
I love the film Kes...very sad...

Any floral type horses running?? (For me, Appleblossom and Iris (Ifsy??) thanks.gif xx
lottie
Serious apologies for going slightly off topic here...

..but my dog's registered kennel name is Rilloby Carlotta Mia (from Phantom of the Opera) and she's qualified for Crufts 2008! She also won Best Puppy in Breed at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship show in May, and has a Best Puppy in Group and a Best Puppy in Show at 'open' level. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

She's quite a diva and 'sings' to me quite often... laugh.gif

None of my other dogs have musical associations though...

FUSCHIA has a very good chance in the 4.40 at Warwick. It might be favourite at 11-4 ish
Theres also RED BLOSSOM (Lingfield 3.20) and TIGER LILLY (Lingfield 3.55)

However I havent the time to trawl though flowers as well as birds and the musical ones.
From tomorrow I will only do the musical ones . (Sorry Skylark and other 'birds')

No winner yesterday

ANGEL SPRINTS (not voices, my mistake), FRENCH OPERA and FUSCHIA were all third#

MUSICAL BEAT (Chester 6.40) poss favourite at 5-2
MUSICAL GIANT (Hamilton 6.50) outsider

BALAKIREF (3.30 Ayr)
PENTHOUSE MELODY (4.45 Newton Abbot)
DIAMOND FLUTE (8.00 Windsor)
MUSIC CELEBRE (9.20 Wolverhampton)

Could be construed as music, but more likely cheese, and likely favourite we have

fsharpminor

Quite a few today:-

SILVER PRELUDE (7.25 Yarmouth) has a chance 4-1

fsharpminor
Ah well back to the old routine !

Not checked all runners for today but best chances seem to be;-

DRUMMING PARTY (8.30 Windsor) possbly 5-1 favourite

RONDO (8.15 Carlisle) poss 9-2 fav, but is opposed by MISTER JINGLES , maybe second fav at 5-1.
fsharpminor
RONDO was a non runner yesterday, so MISTER JINGLES won at 11-2
DRUMMING PARTY was unplaced

Only two meetings today, nothing very inspiring from a musical point of view.

Best I can offer is CLASSICAL WORLD (Catterick 3.00) , slightly fancied at 5-1 ish
Oops ! nearly missed SCHOENBERG (Chepstow 4.45) about 8-1 .
