I play the flute and enjoy it very much. I can't say what grade I am because I haven't done any exams, but I expect it would be fairly basic one. I'm an adult self-teacher and I've been learning for about 2 years. I've been lucky enough to find people to play with and encourage me and I now play in a pub band sometimes. I also dabble in melodica and penny whistle and sing a bit.
I played piano and recorder at school but not very well and didn't enjoy it that much. But it taught me a bit of music theory which is really handy now.
I've rediscoverd music making in the last few years and it's been so rewarding
I've just acquired a clarinet and want to learn to play it but it's still a struggle just yet...
This forum seems really usefull for me for finding tips as I haven't got a teacher. (I woudn't mind some lessons but can't afford it anyway
Thanks for putting information up which people like me can get for free, it really makes a difference!
P.S. I don't practice enough....
