I'm really getting into jazz music at the moment and I love to play jazz piano as there are many books with popular standards etc. readily available. However piano isn't my first instrument, I am better at violin (about grade 7) and was wondering if anybody has any ideas of any books for jazz violins, or any listening recommendations.
If anybody here plays jazz violin - how did you get into it?
Thanks in advance

Taught myself I'm afraid. You could try a great book though called "Jazz Fiddle Wizard" by Martin Norgaard, or if you live anywhere near the Somerset/Wiltshire area I could teach you if you're prepared to make the journey!

Violinia that's a really kind offer - but I live near Leeds so it's a bit far!!!
Thanks for the book recommendation - I'll check it out.
