Part of our garden is under construction for a new patio and we now have our very own Glastonbury - a huge muddy puddle outside the patio door. Don't know when they'll start work again!

Very hot and sunny in Scotland!!
It was funny watching the weather this morning! It went along the lines of 'there is going to be rain across the whole country'. Looking out the window all i could see was sun and blue sky! Mind you normally when they say 'the country' they mean England and Wales.......

Not in this part of Scotland! So much for the old 'It doesn't rain on the East Coast'!
It's not raining now though, it's just really cold and cloudy.

Mine's straight but it goes curly in the rain... well kind of. It's not really properly curley, just little bits round my face.
Been pretty wet here today. The floors were all wet in the halls so I slipped over, everyone laughed at me and now my ankle hurts

Had some sun around 6ish and it's not rained since, looking a little ominous though.

The weather today has been a bit dreary, with intermittent rain.
I've read that the weather in other parts of the UK has been absolutely appalling (Yorkshire appears to have taken a dreadful pummelling again

). Hope our Yorkshire forumites have all managed to avoid the worst of the rain/damage...

Wet here too (South Bucks), but not as wet as yesterday. Re: the above - been there, done that, now she's buying conditioner to enhance the curls

!! I give up, but I'm not throwing out the hair straighteners yet

It's been so vicious in Sheffield I've just never known anything like it - this is the second time in little over a week we've hit the national news because of the deluge. I heard the helicopters and sirens earlier today: they were for looking for a little lad who was washed away just down the road from where I live: they found his body shortly afterwards and a man washed away to his death right in the city centre and people being airlifted from factory roofs. Sheffield has 5 rivers but they are usually such gentle rivers. I've never known anything like this.
I love wild weather - the untameble elements are exhilarating but this isn't fun. It's tinged with depression and apprehension - the deaths of those poor people and the sheer vengance of the rain. It's all a bit worrying.
