Last night we had a really heavy downpour and I was caught in it two acres away from the house! Today it is dry but blowing a gale. Where has our summer gone?

It looks like a second disappointing summer in a row is on the cards, doesn't it? Gale warnings out for North Wales and the North West of England...

Today is sunny, but very breezy, and none too warm as a result...

Hot and sultry - it just would be - our end of term concert is this evening. Might get competition from thunder.

My daughter had hers yesterday afternoon. She played in a brass ensemble outside under a tree - heat was bearable and then in a "symphony orchestra" inside where it was far, far too hot.
The worst off, however, were the youngest dancers who were supposed to be dancing with bare feet. A black stage had been set up outside against the south-facing wall...
We had a thunderstorm during the night and it is cooler and overcast today today.
Good luck for your concert

Oh dear. Apart from the occasional bit of rain (and one rather rainy night, forget which night it was), it's been very good down south of late. Let's hope all the country can share in some decent summery weather...

Typical... I'm on Geography fieldtrips on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and there are thunderstorms and/or rain forecast for all three days...

Tomorrow is coast day, so I'm hoping we'll be finished before the heavy rain moves in...
