Where has our Summer gone this year????

It's here, it's here! In Hungary. Could you please send those clouds this way

it's like 40 C outside, or close enough

Ooo, you're in Hungary, valagai??? Which part?
Forum members Hammerklavier and JudithJ are both there for three weeks and they tell me how VERY hot it is at the moment...I'm envious of them being there but I must say I'm not envious of the 40 degrees...

I've studied on three Summer Seminars in Kecskemét as well as one short study tour there (lovely place

) and have a British/Polish friend who lived there for seven years (taught at the Kodály school there) and still has a house in the town.
Forum member Hammerklavier has just spent the last year studying at the Kodály Institute and absolutely loved it. He then went to a piano course near Lake Balaton and now has gone back to Kecskemét for this year's Summer Seminar.
So yes, I've done a bit of study there (although most of my study has been in the UK) and yes, I love the country too!!

Went to Open Golf at Carnoustie yesterday. It threw it down all the way from our Fife hotel up there at 7.30 am, but was then fine for most of the day, but ridiculously cold (About 13 deg ) and windy. It then threw it down for most of my journey back to Wirral.
Its still pretty wet now on the Wirral. Have to drive to Suffolk this afternoon for the weekend, what's it like there ?
Then off to France and Switzerland for two weeks. Will be away from forums until August 6th.

Herefordshire is under water - we went to the local leisure centre and the road turned into a river - we could not get home. The manager of the centre took us to our daughter's in his 4x4 - she lent us her car to come home on the high road and now I've lit our fire it's so cold.
So sorry for those who can't keep the water out of their homes.

We had incredible amounts of rain until mid afternoon. The small river near us has burst its banks, several homes are flooded, people are taking their possessions upstairs. They've been told other people are worse off, no pumps are available, so its self-help and community spirit to the rescue.

We're having some garden landscaping done. This morning it rained so hard that loads of mud seeped off the bank and into our lovely clear pond which has had the same fish in it for 8 years. I am a bit sad because I can't see them under the now very cloudy, murky water and I don't know if they are still alive.
Obviously a very minor mishap compared to those poor people on the news with ruined homes. Awful. There was a lady yesterday with a grand piano surrounded by water
