We're not flooded, but houses very nearby are. A tributary of the Thames has overflowed for the first time in living memory, according to older people in the area.
My elderly mum spent half the night stuck in a coach in the M5 floods. She said the traffic and floods in the midlands were horrendous, but that they'd all been very well looked after.
Sunny here at the moment, but more heavy rain forecast by lunchtime.

The rain stopped here mid-afternoon so thankfully the concert still went ahead. It was raining slightly at about 1am today, but it's just overcast now. I hope it doesn't rain too much again

Has rained all morning but fine now - we were able to go and rescue our car albeit with a bit of plodging. Our neighbour in the end cottage of our 4 cottages has a minor flood. The water came through his walls, not in the door - as he is set down a little from the ground and the ground is saturated. He is very cheerful about it though.
Supposed to be sunny tomorrow - but I'll believe it when I see it.

It was sunny all week in Devon, very hot some days!
But, back here, it's all grey and there is a bit of flooding in the rural villages, as we found trying to get home.

It is dry here too between the torrential stormy bits. What is happening with our weather? Is this really a result of us all leaving dirty great carbon footprints everywhere?

It was lovely here earlier (in N. Ireland) but has since dulled down. No rain yet, though. In answer to your question, it is probable that there are just too many of us, breathing out carbon dioxide and having metal objects that breath out c/monoxide. I laugh out loud when I see some families trying to conscience salve by taking a few newpapers by car to the paper recycling facilities. We've been told that to counteract that car journey of -say - several miles there and back, you'd have to have taken a pile of papers several feet high. Don't know if this is right.
PS It's now raining - well it is N. Ireland

Wet is probably a pretty accurate summary of the last few days. We had swans swimming in a field yesterday, though it has started to dry out... Opposite my house theres a field, an canal, a couple more fields and the Cherwell, all got flooded! But a pretty steep hill stopped the water getting to the road, though I hear the Train Station was under several feet.

Banbury - I don't think any houses were flooded, but the train station was and I think the swimming pool as well.

You'll have a great time Cyrilla. We've had a narrowboat on this canal several times and it is so peaceful and the scenery is breathtaking. When we were kayaking yesterday we were on the canal (or sitting on the side) for a total of six hours and we only saw six narrowboats in that time.
The river near Brecon is spectacular just now with all the extra water - but probably more restrained in a couple of weeks - unless we have more torrential rain - perish the thought!
