Hi, I've been reading around this section, and I dont want to sound rude!

I do practise but never thought the teacher would "care" as such, so-long as they get their money, but after reading how you feel and personally wants your students to progress really motivates me even more.

Personally I would love my teacher to give me a chance to perform, but he never did , SIGH.

I always play at school concerts solo and if the band if I can!

I also go to the church christmas things we do.

I'm off to practise sax!

Our teachers really do care. At the moment I really do not feel like taking my grade 6 theory exam, which is on June 16th and I haven't told my teacher. What is keeping me going, and working as hard as I can, is all the extra time my teacher has given to me and the fact that she marks my practice exam papers late at night for me before my next lesson. I really want to pass my exam for her, as well as myelf of course, and I don't want to let her down.

Good luck smile.gif

I used to feel the same way, but now I know that my teacher really is dedicated to it; the number of times he's made recordings on cd and hunted down certain pieces of music for me - I can't believe I ever though less that a lot of him!

I think a lot of pupils, especially younger ones, should learn to show their appreciation for their teachers, and not take things for granted.

Hello Will-132,

It's good to know that you're taking the initiative to expose yourself in music performance. School concerts and churches are good ways to start! Is there a youth orchestra in your area which you can apply to? Perhaps you could form your chamber orchestra with some of your friends? The options are endless! All the best biggrin.gif

Hope you had a good practice, Will-132.

well, many people of my age don't like anything "non rap/heavy metal", and its known as "classical piano ######" or "lame saxophone"...Its not a big problem, the only acceptable instruments are: electric guitar, bass guitar, drums.

its not a problem really but just a little joke among my friends, can get annoying at times.

I hope to do something with my saxophone with the local music jazz orchestra band thing, I'll look into it.

I have to play with finale notepad....sob sob biggrin.gif:D:D:
