The AB (possibly working with Rockschool to show diversity) could develop a website aimed at parents and potential students. It could have a memorable address (something like, say, therightteacher.co,uk) and give general information on what to look for in a good music teacher, what all the acronyms mean, what are the exam boards and so on. A good-quality, one-stop site written in plain English.
There are definitely some bad teachers out there (such as the one diapason was talking about in the linked thread above), and it's a shame to see people's musical education wasted because of them. Such a site would help parents and students make a better informed decision from the start.
Thoughts, anyone?
