Hi, please help, I have quite a busy life but music is very important biggrin.gif

I am willing to dedicate 2 and a half to 3 hours a day to music practise in the week, and more at the weekends.

I need to work on....
-Grade 6 Theory
-Grade 6 Piano
-Grade 6 Classical Guitar
-Grade 0 Saxophone
-Composing/Arranging

I have just started the saxophone, so my "stamina" is not great, I can only play for half an hour before it becomes pointless.

Piano is the priority, followed by classical guitar, saxophone, theory, Composing/Arranging.

Composing and arranging is just for fun but I view it as important, but we don't pay for it so it cannot be prioritised.

Thanks in advance, (again..)

If i were you I'd want to do at least an hour on my first instrument each day. If you have music classes in school you could think of doing your guitar practice then freeing up time in the evening. With the saxophone it probably depends on what you want to do with it e.g. play it for fun, bands or as a serious study. If it is as a serious study you should probably look at around half an hour possibly increasing to 45 mins once you've got the stamina up.

The composing/arranging probably depends on how enthusiastic you are about it. If you have something you really need to arrange e.g. coursework or for a band you're in you would probably need to spend more time on it.

The theory side i tended to fit in at night reading through the reference books and then getting the exercises done at break/free periods during school. It's not for everyone though so you might like to think about doing a bit each night. I'm on Gr 6 at the moment and looking at the exam in November but i'm not really looking it at the moment because of the holidays when i'll have a lot of free time to look at it. Maybe you could think about leaving the main work on it till the holidays when you have time and do some background reading just now instead.

Thanks very much, but I doubt I'd be allowed to do guitar at school music lesson, and, it sounds low, it is, but like anyone here I'd get the mickey taken for doing theory or guitar. ;sob (is that an emote? oh well biggrin.gif)

I like the ideas, thanks!
