I've requested a standard exam visit this time and put on the entry quite a few dates that my pupils can't make. I just wondered if any teachers who have had standard visits tend to get the week they ask for during the exam period? I know from past experience that with centres it can be a bit hit and miss and just wondered if it was different for standard visits. Thanks!

In my limited experience, I've had a few times where I've had what I've asked for, and others not. This session is quite problematic, there aren't many dates my pupils can do, so I'm really hoping...

I've also had very "hit and miss" weeks. Last session I asked for the last week and got week 2! I suppose if everyone asks for a particular week, then they have to just randomly allocate the rest of the dates. I'm sure if there are geniune reasons a pupil can't make an exam e.g. exams/a holiday, then they will change it. I remember I swapped my Grade 8 Clarinet exam as I was away on the date allocated to me.

According to the information here they try to take into account preferred week, last available date and whether you ask for no Saturdays.
