I am studying for grade 5 French horn currently, and would like to play another instrument as well as the horn. Something thats more brass band preferably. I played cornet to about grade 1/2 standard but got fed up with it.

I like lower brass preferably and I want something i can pick up quickly. Currently I like the look of the Baritone or Euphonium , but the tenor horn looks rather nice too.

One that isnt too difficult or as strenuous on the lips as the french horn.

I went from trombone to euphonium, and didn't find it too hard to pick up. And you've got to love the euphonium - such a nice sound!

tenor horn and french horn are probably the closeset together. Also a brass bands are always after them (my conductor is screaming for tenor horns at the minute.

If you feel like a change then the euph or bari would be fine. However if your after a small challenge then you want the trombone. Even though the mouthpiece is basically the same as a euph one, you have to learn the slide postitions, obviously whereas with a tenor horn, euph, or bari you already know the fingerings.

its a great instrument, the only problem i have with them is that they sit right behind the euphs in a brass band. I have constantly got one blowing in my ear!!!!

hmmmm i am sceptical about the trombone, I am leaning towards Euphonium currently or baritone.
